I’m Ricky, a current Ph.D. in Management & Organizations at Penn State. Whether observing the history of the Hershey Chocolate Company or Hmong Vendors at a Flea Market, I study how purpose-driven organizations adapt to changes over time.
I spent the last decade developing tools to help organizations and the people inside of them. I've lived with business owners in rural Asia, delved into corporate archives to understand how a hospital dedicated to never allowing clinical demonstration of its patients ended up developing the Polio vaccine, and explored how initiates in a religious school advocated for change from within the system. I teach classes on Organizational Behavior, how to use data to influence organizational decision-making, Culture and Management, and received the top honor from my MBA program.
When not researching or teaching, I love foraging, exploring on my bike, and baking sourdough bread.
